So with that Joy at Soul Scrappers is also working on art journaling...

and here is my first page in my 'Life is about creating yourself' journal...the technique went wrong, but still I am happy with the outcome!

The Scent of the May bush

The beginning of our Childhood Memories with Jane at Soul Scrappers, and what a great way to begin!

I choose to use a photo of my home in Lismore from when I was 2 years old til 7.  I have no photo, so this is a Google map photo, & I just couldn't get over the fact that the May bush is still there - after all these years!

I used some '50's' style embossed paper, with some fab ribbon from a US friend Libby & lovely little Prima roses.

This is going to be such a worthwhile adventure this year...do join in if you like.

STG - 2012 ie Do What Makes You Happy

Birthday month continues at Scrap the Girls, &

this challenge 4 is from

A GUEST DESIGNER - Jasmine Shea

Jasmine has set a RECIPE challenge
YOU MUST USE
Ribbon
Paint/mist

Circles

Flowers
AND A

Number Title – e.g. age, date,
number of something e.g. items
So I couldn't help myself, I have scrapped this one as what a fab recipe!

What fun Shelee, Rachel & I had at the Tattered Inspirations 'Autumn Escape' Retreat last April in Canberra.  So when the famous Mr McNeill wanted to take some happy snaps, we played like giddy gals under the trees, rustling in the leaves . Thus 'do what makes you happy'...

4 brilliant challenges at STG this month & I also have a big thank you to Mal too, as I am the lucky winner of the overall STG Blog Hop!
I am hopping around most excited.

Scrap Boutique scrapping

The January challenges at ScrapBoutique are just fabulous!!

For Karen's Stash Stompers, the challenge is to use up our Christmas papers/embellies & this use this fab sketch of Em Stafrace from PageDrafts, Christmas Cheer range.

PD SKetch.jpg

And here is mine, using 2 great photos of the marvellous Madi & heroic Hayden in the Water Balls..

I love this sketch & I will use it again...I adore stitching on paper & this one was fabulous to work on

Plus I am so into banner & flags...they are so fun!

Then for Sharons Stylist LO we had a great recipe..

It can be any theme and any number of photographs,
but only the ingredients below :D

1 x Craft cardstock
2 x patterned papers
2 x different alphas
2 x chipboard pieces
3 x flowers
1 x lace / ribbon
1 x transparency

So more fun for me as I had some time to scrap.  I used some embossed paper, that I just felt would go with the buidling in our photo.

This photo is of my brother Alan & his wife Jan, & we were out with family clebrating Jan's 60th just after Pippa was born in Sept 12.

Thanks for taking a look & happy scrapping, when it is not too hot!!

PD SKetch.jpg

The krafty Karen at ScrapBoutique choose on of these delightful sketches from Em's 'Christmas Cheer' range at PageDrafts, and I really loved working with is one of course!!

Karen's criteria was to use Christmas paper & embellies, but not necessarily in a Christmas LO.

I choose 2 wonderful photos of our Madi & Hayden, and linked them with this gorgeous Glitz paper - dont you just love that hessian, & October Afternoon embellies - flags on flags fluttering, lots of stitching & created this happy page.

Do pop over to ScrapBoutique & PageDrafts, and check out more!

Welcome to 2013 with a fab ARTastic challenge!

January inspiration at ARTastic comes to you from ...

My Blue Angel by 3D chalk artist - Jenny McCracken.

Criteria – the use of chalk or the addition of wings on your entry
or be adventurous and use both :)
A little about 3D chalk art

3D chalk art is also known as pavement art, street painting, anamorphic perspective, optical illusions and sidewalk art.
3D chalk art is traditionally produced directly on the ground. Images and footage of the artwork continue to spread a message online well after the work has been washed away. Traditionally it is a temporary art form but these days permanent artworks are produced on the ground and walls too.
No question - Chalk art is a crowd-stopper – a great choice for a centrepiece at all kinds of festivals! 3D chalk art can be supported with public are workshops and competitions.
3D illusions can be produced directly on the ground, on canvas, or other surfaces. When canvas is used the artworks can be used for multiple events. Posing in 3D artworks for photos is engaging way to interact with an audience and to reach a larger audience.

For more information on Jenny …
International Chalk art tour

So with this fabulous inspiration and criteria here is my page..

I used chalk with a template, lots of hand cutting and some fluffy feathers with this divine photo of our dear grand daughter Pippa.

So try your hand at this great challenge ...check out ARTastic now!!!
