Christmas Card Club - This fortnight it is my choice!

My choice for the challenge for this fortnights Christmas Card Club is a 3 fold card with Christmas colours.

So I have been making 2 cards per challenge so far, but I decided I would make 3 cards this time..I really want to be in front by early December.

Card One - Merry Christmas to all, & to all a goodnight.

This is October Afternoon pp & ephemera with cream CS

I have not made one of these cards before, & loved this idea, so will make a couple of birthday cards now.

Card Two - Merry Christmas

I have again used October Afternoon pp & ephemera with cream CS, such a lovely style of card.

Card Three - Merry Christmas (once again)

With this one I used my favourite style of card, using Graphic 45 pp for this vintage 3 fold card.  Just love the rich colours of Christmas here.

And here is the lucky duck RAK to be won by this fortnight's players.  I will use a Random Generator on Sunday morning 10 March...hope you win it!!
I have kept it relatively flat for posting OS.

Thnk you for looking,

Hugs
Debi, xxxx

Adore - to treasure or cherish

Over at Sandie's Place, this wonderful card maker is having a redipe of the week & this week it is

Ok - Week 3.

This weeks recipe is to combine

Black and white and add one more colour to the mix.

You can add anything to your creation.

So here is mine

We have the most terrible weather again today, so I hve just taken this photo on the kitchen sink!!  So the colours are really bad...they are lovely crunchy lime green flowers, not that baby poo colour!!

It was a fab recipe & you can join in too if you like!

Thanks dear Sandie

Scrapville Monthly Pack - 75c - I love it!

I honestly this this pp range is divine...Kasiercraft are doing themselves proud of late & this range '75c' is no exception.  I adore the depth of patterns & colours, & am finding myself just wanting to use it all the time! This pack from Scrapville is just the best!

Here is a lovely photo of our Tashi taken at at the beach for her school formal & it is a wonderful photo - my son took it!  I have added lots of machine stitching & pink & blue inks rubbed into my white CS & the stitching.  I just love that hint of pink to go with the sunset in this photo. I really think it works well here.

I'm Dreaming

Here is my card for Dawn challenge at our wonderful Christmas Card Club.
Her challenge was no stamped images, just words.  So although this looks a plain-jane card, I used lots of mixed media techniques to get here.  I love pinks & blues for Christmas...lovely little change from the usual colours.
I used light white CS, & a template that is from KC & is only words. So used my fave product at the moment - Gesso- & smothered the template.  Had to let that dry & gave it a good 3 hours, then got my inks on a piece of soft fabric & ribbed them gently over the dried CS. The colour sticks on the un Gesso'd & that highlights the words.  I used 3 diff coloured inks, & also gesso'd another page with pinks. After the pink was dry I punched out lots of hearts which will surely come in handy!  I then used a BG Christmas 'I'm Dreaming' sticker along with 2 pink hears on foam tape to give dimension to add colour & texture to the card.

I have also made a 2nd card, as I am trying to do this year & here it is..

I have used the same Gesso techniques, with a few more embells.

Hope you like them!

Hugs dear card making gals!

I Live

My art journal that I am working on with fabulous prompts from Karen at Scrapboutique, is giving me smiles at the 'randomness' I feel when I am spodging & splatting...I love it..

This BG paper, with only 4 easy pieces I used as an anology for life...4 main ingredients...so they are my own prompts for my next pages.

Childhood Memories

Ah Jane from Soul Scrappers is running a fabulous year long series,
all about our own Childhood Memories.

So this is # 3, and the challenge is about clothing. so I used this photo taken in the lounge room of my Lismore home in the blue taffeta dress, and little while gloves.

Chall # 4 was regarding words....and I know I used Dinky all the time...I am lucky to have a photo too, with me on the treasured item.

It is just amazing the things that pop in your mind from when you are little, just having the prompts is amazing!

I have cut a hand dyed doily into a rough 1/2 heart shape & attached a hand cut heart, embellished with buttons & bling & Stickles...the bling & Stickles are from my lovely english rose friend dear Clare. Then layered it on a red card...

Aussie Pete & his budgetry skills

So what do you think of this humorous inspiration at
this month...great hey!!

Extra Criteria

1pt = Grey base card stock
2 pts = playing card/s
3 pts = money notes

NOTE - We are now looking for individual entries for FS2S, you may combine your entry with a sketch but we no longer want entries that combine other challenges as we feel the ladies that do the right thing and take the time to enter independent entries are disadvantaged when it comes to winning prizes. If it means we lose a few entries, so be it!

And here is my page -

Great photo of Pete taken on Australia Day, and I really had fun adding lots of ephemera..so do join in.  These inspirations are so much fun!

Family circa 1958 at ARTastic...

Our February inspiration at ARTastic...

comes to you from famous Australian artist ...
Charles Meere (1890-1961) with his painting Australian Beach Pattern (1940)
Criteria - Free choice, make of this as you will
A little about Charles Meere

Meere was one of a group of Sydney artists who took a modern take on classical artistic traditions as a way of portraying national life in the period between the First and Second World Wars.
Born in London, Meere trained as a mural artist at the Royal College of Art, where he was influenced by the ideas of William Morris on craftmanship and the role of the designer. Moving to Australia, he worked as a commercial artist and as a cartographer and illustrator for newspapers.
His most famous work is Australian Beach Pattern which depicts a tableau of beach goers whose athletic perfection takes on monumental, heroic proportions. Meere created a crowded and complex composition through the pattern of figures, which appears as a still-life of suspended strength. This iconic painting encapsulates the myth of the healthy young nation symbolised by the tanned, god-like bodies of the sunbathers.

This is the only photo I believe of my parents, my siblings & me..the only one!!
This happy snap was taken with my parents (rarely used) Box Brownie camera, at Cabarita Beach in summer of 1958.  Yes, it is blurry but I absolutely love it.

Pictured from l to r is -
Alan, Dad (Jack), little me, Mum (Joyce), Judith holding the umbrella & Lance.
The Peters Clan.

So with gesso, templates, hessian, scrap papers, & Pink Paislee hexagon, I created this page with that fab inspiration by Charles Meere.

Do join in as this is a wonderful site, with great inspirations each month.
