The Day

I just loved, & loved working on my wedding photos here, for the most fabulous colours from the case 76 at CSI.

I have only a handful of reasonable photos & have scrapped them in muted tones before, but to see them with these vibrant joyous colours made me happy!

And of course using Em's sketch sure added to the scene.

For my CS, I watered it will my sprayer then used a straw to suck up minute amounts of Glimmermist, dropped it on the paper & then blew the paint about.  I was really pleased with how that turned out.

Then using most of the CSI embellies that Michelle makes, I just had fun.

Well, now to work on Case File 77!!!

Mum's Fun

With yet another fabulous case to solve at CSI, I really enjoyed scrapping this page for Case File 75.

No photos of my dear mum's high heeled, satin covered gorgeous shoes, but I found a piccie on the net & used this as the basis of my page..

I had fun with this gorgeous Bo Bunny pp, then texture paste & inking some stamping & a lovely big journaling card for my mum's story of her joy with her high heeled shoes, satin covered especially for weddings.  My Uncle George owned a Melbourne shoe factory, but I cannot remember its name...but I will keep searching that one.

I was very lucky to make it onto the Watch List again...I am very chuffed.

Alacraft goodies - Review 2

I just love this 'Love' card...lovely coloured gold flowers with the black butterfly.

I used these wonderful Alacraft pieces to create this one

Cream & white textured & white cardstock - lovely quality

Beautiful flower sprays - on this card I used the gold ones..

I have not used bling alphas before, so really loved playing with these. They worked so well!

And a bling frame, that I trimmed to suit my card, always got to make the embellies fit the project!

Now here is a card that is not one you can make too often...

a lovely scrapping friend Joy's Gram

I have used some lovely trims  & some more bling here too, along with some big pink flowers I had & a lovely big white flower that I misted in pink.

Joys Gram is nearly blind so I made this card all touchy-feely for her.

So I thoroughly recommend you try Alacraft when purchasing your next crafting supplies.

And dont forget my special deal..

Use my special discount code "DEBI20".  It's for 20% off your purchase...plus orders over $100 received their goodies free.

Miss You

It has been so very long since I blogged....sore back & then we were away for a few days...gotta catch up!!!

So here we go,  with Feeling Sketchy 63, a fab card challenge for this fortnight.

Plus I used the fun & fantastic digital stamps from Lacy Sunshine Stamps.

I am pretty new to using my Copics & an image, but I really am enjoying the 'peacefulness' of adding colour to an image.

Here is Lacy Sunshine Stamps Maggie Springtime Girl...isn't she sweet, & I love her swishy long dress.

Hope you can get a chance to create a card.

Hugs  xx

Hellooooo...

#62

Lovely sketch isn't it?  Great one to create a card for Feeling Sketchy isn't it?

From now on, you have a whole TWO weeks to get your card made & up on our blog..
gives a great amount of time dont you think?

Here is my card...I have to say I dont usually colour with my Copics, I am not very clever that way but we have been wonderfully sponsored by Lacy Sunshine Stamps
and it was fun to have a go.  I have bought special paper for using with Copics, so my next card will be so much better!!

Holiday Moment..

I have not seen this movie, but when I saw this poster I loved it...love the depth, the everything..and this is the inspiration for June at From Screen 2 Scrap.

This was dear Shazza's choice & the criteria for your page is -

Added Criteria...
1pt = A Fence
2 pts = Gold/Yellow title
3 pts = Hot Air Balloon/s

So I had to use a photo I took on my recent Norfolk Island holiday of some rocks, called Dinasour Rocks..cos they gave me that sort of warm feeling too.

So do join in with us!

A moment in time...

Now how about this fabulous inspiration this month from Archi-scraps!  These are nylon air houses that appeared in Life Magazine - wow! The main criteria is - silhouettes.

So I settled & worked on a design & emailed it away, but also emailed it to Scrapbooking Memories magazine who promptly asked to publish it...so very chuffed with that I have to say!!
I then worked on another page this time using this near-silhouette photo of Pete, taken on our recent trip to Norfolk Island.  I inked with a template some circular shapes as a background, some great Twiddleybitz chippies, a clothing label along with a Tim Holtz label & was happy with my result.

Do join in with us this month - there is always a great prize.

The Wonder of it All...

World Environment Day is celebrated June 5th, so in honour of this day ARTastic is participating in a challenge with a difference.

Introducing Robin's Nest by environmental artist Susan Schenk.

Criteria - the use of recycled material to feature prominently on your work (ie minimal commercial products). Hint - think ephemera and recycled items

A little about Susan Schenk
My art is an invitation to see beyond the apparent. From a distance, my collages appear to be paintings. Up close, they are complicated jumbles of disparate parts. These collages are similar to our own lives; appealing when viewed from afar but somewhat fractured when inspected more intimately.

My use of discarded materials as paint fosters the idea of finding beauty in the overlooked. I find treasures hidden in the trash. By using recycled magazines, maps and other ephemera, I leave a small carbon footprint and more importantly, carve out a trail of enjoyment for others.

So here is my page -

I used new CS & this lovely photo of Pippi along with a Goldmark jewellery flyer to make the two flowers and the woven pattern under the clothing/packaging labels, plus ribbon off the shoulder of a new top.

Why dont you join in too...it is a great challenge!! But aren't they all?
