Awesome Boys....

I joined in with Scrap the Boys this month, with this great challenge of

Outdoors Activity

I couldn't go passed this fab photo of Bob Dawson with his kite surfer & Pete with his windsurfer, back in 2004 at Sawtell.

What a fab day it was for them both playing with the waves & the wind...the love of these was a great bond.

After Bob died, I felt it was lucky that we had the day with him there.

Problem Solved...

I had some play time in my scrap room today & gee it was great to be able to adhere & ink!

Here is my LO for Kraft It Up this month...a bit grungy, using KC Basecoat PP (which I love) & some older Tim Holtz embellies... plus I played with the sketch to suit my 8.5 x 11 LO too.

This is our grandson Harry with his Pa, sorting out the building up of a ConstrucaBot...he built it all himself, but just got stuck on one small piece...clever lad!

Here is the sketch if you would like to join in my Sept 30.

There is always 2 sides

Dear Lucy has chosen a fabulous photo this month of Cate Blanchett to use on a LO for YSMY...
so here is mine!

I have used that fab KC paper, with coloured impasto, masking with Glimmermist, stamping with Dew Drop & Stazon inks, making my page quite dark then the pop of the repeated photos & the orange ribbon from a new cardi of mine.

I printed 2 photos, & titled this one 'There is always 2 sides' as this thought is often on my mind.

Thanks for taking a peek..

Cheers, xx

Sun in Positano

What a gorgeous gate & doorway.....oh I was inspired to work on a LO for Archi-scraps using Septembers' criteria of blues on your page...

Here is my page, titled Sun in Positano.

I choose to use this photo of my daughter framed in a big open window, perched high above the glistening water in Positano, Italy.
The blue sea is just like a gorgeous background & with some lovely pp & some lovely Flourish with A Bling, I was really happy with the outcome.

Do come & join us - Julene has a fabulous prize this month again.

Sunshine with Grandma...

This month at ARTastic we feature Michael Cartwright with Holiday Homes

Criteria – Quirky and fun – let’s see some light hearted, whimsical entries

Michael says … I paint in two distinct techniques. Brightly Coloured Quirky Cottages and Traditional Landscapes. Both styles explore the beauty of Western Australia’s south coast where I live. There is no shortage of subjects to paint in this part of the world as the area displays a vast array of delightful scenery. Whimsical scenic towns collide with traditional local history from where both techniques derive.

I love the quirky, fun layouts our creative team have for you this month.

I really hope you join in with this fabulous & relaxing challenge this month at ARTastic .

It's a great one!

Hugs Debi  xx

Inspiration time at Feeling Sketchy

Welcome to our first inspiration post for Feeling Sketchy for September.

With our sponsor for September being the fabulous Sassy Studio Designs, they have fabulous & very sassy images that are great to work with, & so I decided on a couple of cards & a LO.

With first card using this fun Sassy Digi Image 'Ariel Sassy', titled Lucky Me I have layered on cardstock, & a little piece of muslin that I have dyed to match my seaside colours...just like a fishing net. I have also added 2 tiny shells. I love to add 'non-scrapping' items to a card or a page...there is so much choice for ephemera ie clothing labels & tags, paint chips, postcards & much more.

My next project is a LO using 8.5 x 11 size CS as my base, & I this very sweet image -
Christmas Sassy.

I have also used a photo of my cuteset little baby grand daughter...& it seems like she is pointing to Sassy!

Try using lots of masks & mists for instant background interest.  Plus texture paste, impasto, gesso...it is so much fun! With some bling & bright cheery colours, I am very happy with this page.

And my 3rd project this week is a card titled Live, Love, Laugh using the Bathtime Sassy image.

I used the black & white image with lots of layering & black & white patterned paper, along with hand dyed pink seam binding & a blingy heart as a ring on her finger!
Really happy with using the 'raw' image!

I hope I have inspired you to play around with your card making & scrapbooking goodies, along with some other 'found' items.

And thank you to our

September Sponsor
September 2013

4 digi's to the winner -

now that is fabulous!!
