You Have The Wow Factor @ Scrappy Canary

Isn't this a fabulous sketch??

Well it is the December challenge at Scrappy Canary

And I have had a few hours to create this afternoon...so here is my page..

I am just in love with this Websters Pages range by Adrienne Looman....could help myself but use it!

I have jiggled the sketch a bit (as you do), & very happy with the outcome of showcasing my little grand daughter when she was 17 months old.

Now, it's time for a new, and our final challenge. So the last challenge.....I am sorry to see this one fold too.

This week we are bringing you a Classic Toy challenge at Child's Play Challenges
Lite Brite

I honestly have not heard of this toy....but it looks a fabulous way of making pictures.

I used the colours in the photo as my inspiration.

I have used lots of shapes & layers along with this lovely photo of Pippa looking at the Christmas display...she is one little angel.

So texture paste, inking, mist transparency, shapes & flowers top of this page.

Thank you to you all at Child's Play...

Remember When @ Scrap Africa

For some it's Christmas Time/ December Holidays/ Hannukah in sunny Africa....for some it's a snowy winter in Europe...
Tell us what a traditional December is like for you, in your home town, city or country. So journalling is a must...even if just telling us the story on your blog!

You can create a layout or card or altered project to depict this theme for Scrap Africa
Here is the inspiration..

Now the challenge was to work on a LO of my traditional Christmas, but my dear Jade was in Sweden near Christmas time 2005 & thought the photos she had returned with just perfect for this...so here is mine LO..

I used this lovely Kaisercraft paper, plus lots of bits of PL cards I have some bandage, a lovely chipboard lamppost & a touch or two of Kindy Glitz.

I have this 'thing' for gold & it was lovely to use up some glittery supplies...

My journaling states...

Travelling from sunny Australia to the depths of winter in Europe was such a change.
Snow & ice, short days, overcoats, scarves & beanies...but so magnificent too.
Christmas time in Sweden for Jade in 2005. Cold & beautiful.

Thank you for a lovely challenge ...the first one I have done in over a week...

Rusty Beauty @ Scrap Africa

With this most fabulous sketch over at Scrap Africa, I could not let it go unscrapped...

So what I have done for my 'sort-of off the page', is used a bit of cardboard box as my background. I had worked on a similar 'LO' previously & loved it so tried it again!

I adore ripping up the box & then shredding pieces of the bit I have chosen to use...then starts more fun with pinks, & paints, & tissue & gesso...

then used this wonderful photo taken at Norfolk Island of one of their older rusty boats on the shore.
I used by wonderful Nikon to take this photo, but it has taken the back seat lately cos of the ease of my iPhone.

plus lots of fabulous embellies...Prima bling & chevrons, die cuts, stamps, inks, ceramic flower from Tattered Inspirations, washi tape.....oh I did enjoy this one!

I really enjoy the cardboard bit...but it is hard to display...I should organise buying a
little easel!

Thank you for a wonderful sketch..

Hugs, xx

Yum @ Kreative Koncepts

Isnt this the most fabulous sketch...& coming from someone that loves designing sketches, I give it a huge thumbs up..

This is the Sketch 32 for December from Kreative Koncepts.

I am such a lucky duck to be on the Guest Design Team for December, so here is my page.

I started my page on water colour paper which is one of my very faves & used my Heidi Swapp stencils, gelatos, mists & my Franceville pastels flicked on with a little paintbrush & water. I used these gorgeous Pippi photos making a delish Banana Smoothie with her mummy. A real milky girl.

And having so many circles...oh I love circles, I could do heaps of journaling too.

After an all night dry, I began layering with Basic Grey & Simple Stories paper circles, Typo adhesive stickers, Washi Tape circles & hearts, Bo Bunny alphas, little tiny pink flowers, Lawn Fawn dots & my Zig writer.

With such an expressive face & the fact that she is my dear granddaughter, I cant help but love her so!!

A Card & a LO for Feeling Sketchy...

Well it is suddenly December & with that comes

FREE SCRAP ie no sketches at

that means it is FREE CHOICE

So as Sketch Designer, it was so very easy for me!! Smile...

Card Sketch 109 - due on the blog by December 15

And my card...I use the fabulous Kaisercraft Basecoat Christmas for this one as well as little Kaisercraft flowers...I adore that range of paper...best Christmas paper EVER!!

My card it pictured with my ceramic Santa that I made in 1979 at a studio near Tomago near Newcastle...that dear Santa is bought out every year & in his Santa bag he keeps lollies!!

And next our LO Sketch 110 - due on the blog by December 31

Here is one I prepared earlier...

I have used lots of an older Kaisercraft range that was just waiting to get used! I felt it was antiquey to match the photo.

Here is young me in 1967...so I was 12, at the inaugural Party for a Princess in the Jacaranda Festival...& I was chosen the winner...oh my I was so, so happy!!

My mummy organised a borrowed outfit from the local theatre company & added bits & bobs & I went along as a n old fashioned (with a bustle) lady....oh those mum's!

This photo was the one published in the local paper 'The Daily Examiner'.

Interesting facts...

1. I had my long hair cut 2 weeks before, so mum organised the borrowing of a 'switch' from her friend the hairdresser that lived up the road. The hair was real hair - it was the hairdressers daughters plait that she has just cut off. Mum used heaps of bobby pins to attach that hairpiece! The celebrity thought it was my hair & kept admiring it! Smile...

2. The announcer was from the local TV station NRN11, in Coffs Harbour..& that is where I now work..although it has changed names a number of times.

3. I just cant thank my mum enough...& I really don't think I did when she was alive for all her love & support she gave me...I have been very lucky.

I hope you can join in with our challenges, there will even be another
Card Sketch on 15 December!

Hugs, xx

Need to add something sparkly & shiny too...

So here is my LO about my dear son Ben, wife Linda & son Harry visiting
New Zealand in November...

My inspiration came from the colours of the yummy little cups, plus the shapes & the white pretty stuff on the tray.

Shiny glittery gold paper, chevrons & dots make up the page.

Thank you for a great challenge!

Cheers, xxx

Life is good in '66 @ The Memory Nest

Well Life is Good when you are a child, when you are visiting your grandparents...

so I have scrapped my hubby & his twin brother & a little baby kangaroo that Pete tried to hand rear (but sadly died as they do without their mum...)

I have used The Memory Nest's MIM Sketch 29

And I worked on this page..

Some stamping & doodling & wood veneers, & dots & misting...just what I love to do.

Just a little bit of fun @ Challenge YOUrself

It's time for Challenge YOUrself..

Challenge YOUrself #12: Sketch Time
{Don't forget to include YOU in the photo}

And here is my take

I used white CS then some lovely black water colour paper, & my pastels with water splodged & splattered to make an arty base, & some shots of me wearing my fascinator at work on Melbourne Cup Day.

And another close up of me peeping over my glasses!

Thanks for a great challenge once again!

Hugs xx
