Going Places @ The Memory Nest

And what about this great sketch from The Memory Nest
it really appeals to me, just like it is two thin LO's on one page..
making one great memory!

It is fabulous isn't it?

I used these photos of Jade, her Pete & their Pippi going walking along the Brisbane River boardwalk  ...they had to stop for a breather under the trees, as it was such a hot day.

I have used these fabulous Kaisercraft 'Paridiso' papers & word stickers along with
MME papers,  to set the scene.

Thank you Leslie for this great sketch...I reckon I will use it again!

Timeout Fun @ The Memory Nest

And here is another great sketch by Crystal Schneider from The Memory Nest - its a great name hey!

So I have been working on this today...needed to paint & mist the water colour paper & let it dry first.

I had a jiggle with the sketch, as you do & used some large journaling cards from PL that I was given, bit of washi tape & some fab Kaisercraft titles.
This page is about my work mates & I having fun out at Pacific Bay - a work function, as a team builder....the Segways were the best!!

Thank you once again..

OLW ME @ Scrap Africa

A wonderful challenge to start the year across at Scrap Africa.

Create a project that tells us what your "One Little Word" for 2015 is....what do you really aspire to...what do you dream about...what is 2015 all about for you?
Please share your thoughts with us and remember to explain about your OLW.

My 2015 word is

ME

Here is my story.......sorry, a long one...

In 2014 it was discovered that I had a fungal nasal infection...an ongoing infection (for about 5 years) that I took numerous antibiotics & also cortisone to try & clear up.
Nothing worked....and it was yucky!

So I requested a visit to a ENT specialist & the ones here in my home town were booked out til February this year....now this was last August! So I asked for a referral to a Brisbane ENT who I saw very quickly - professional & caring & thank heavens!

So Pete & I headed up in October for my operation called a FESS, but heavens the doctors found a problem with my blood results...so  at the 11th hour the operation was cancelled, we drove home again....5 hours drive south from Brisbane.

I then had an appointment to see a fabulous & witty haematologist at the local North Coast Cancer Institute, & after many blood tests &  Bone Marrow Biopsy it was discovered in December that I have LGL,...Large Granulocytic Leukemia of the T cells.....but at the moment it is benign!!

I am one of 6 people that have this on my town, & so from now on I have to be careful of illness around me as I am lacking in neutraphils that fight bacteria & fungal infections...explains why I couldn't fight off this thing!! And lots of blood tests...they already know me well at pathology!

So finally I headed back to Brisbane for the nasal op on 19 January, & before that had an injection of neutraphil stimulating stuff to help in my recovery....

So what's all this mean...it means that I must focus on ME this year...
do & think & be just me....not what anyone else wants me to be....
who knows when this LGL might change...so no stress...(that's a hard one atm), but I know I will overcome that soon.

So back to the business in hand....

I have used my Gelatos on watercolour paper as the background,..gee I love that stuff.
Then layers of papers..or perhaps layers of me??...flowers, leaves, bling...& just had fun cos I was making this page for me.

Great challenge...thanks so much for this inspiration...

When I grow up @ Archiscraps

Joining in with Archi-scraps this month with a LO based on this image...

I've always liked the look of this house. It is Cloud House in Melbourne.

and the requirements are clouds.

Isn't this the most fantastic Melbourne home...I have actually watched an item on TV on the building of this - I think it is marvellous!

So here is my page all about young me

The photo isn't a good one in quality, but it is a fantastic record as there were so few photos taken back then.

I had fun using this gorgeous gold pp, vellum & bits & bobs.

I have also entered this page over at Soul Scrappers FS2S challenge as well.

RAD @ ARTastic

Joining in over at ARTastic...I am on holidays til 5th January....& it is brilliant having some calm days at home...

Here is this months inspiration...

Different hey! But so fabulous too...

A little about Fintan Magee ...

Fintan Magee is an Australian street artist known for his murals throughout Queensland and later in New South Wales.
Magee grew up in Queensland and gained a reputation as a graffiti artist before obtaining a Fine Arts degree and moving to Sydney. He now works out of "The Tate Gallery" above the Toxteth Hotel in Glebe. He received national acclaim for his mural depicting Felix Baumgartner in Brisbane. Described as "Australia's Banksy", Magee's work is recognised for its lack of a political message, compared to other street artists, and its humour.
Along with other recognised street artists from around Australia, Magee contributed to Toowoomba's "First Coat" program.

This is a free scrap with no set criteria so make of it as you will but don't forget to tell us what inspired you about the painting - the brickwork, the super hero costumes, the little boys, the colours ... whatever you like.

So here is mine...

Here is my son Ben, with his friend Tim way back in 6th class preparing for the school dance, which was a dress up. Now Benni & Tim raided my jewellery, & 'graffitied' their arms to look like punk rockers....I loved that they had so much fun getting ready...

My Benni then & now (aged 35) is definately awesome!!

I used the 'likely lads' in the inspiration, along with the textures of the brick wall to create my page.

Fun with some buttons & masks & texture paste & mists....ah, to scrap, how blissful!

Great challenge...thanks!

Hugs xx
